Dear Readers,

We have December and with it, the traditional pre-Christmas madness that is supposed to culminate in a peaceful holiday time among the family. All of us are looking forward to the Christmas peace, cookies and carp with potato salad, as well as the presents under the Christmas tree, although that aspect isn’t regularly admitted. I cannot help but boast: I have already been given one of the best gifts. We have recently celebrated the Estate magazine’s first birthday and are currently moving to new, of course better and more agreeable offices. Personally, I am very happy that a magazine in its infancy only last year has grown into a pretty toddler and I hope for it to continue growing and stand on its own two feet soon. Of course this gift is largely due to the contribution of you – our readers. We will therefore do our best to repay your loyalty with no less than a helping of good reading in this issue as well as the others in 2009. I dare say that the Estate magazine is exceptional and even unconventional in a sense within the Czech market. That is why this issue brings you an article on unconventional options for your Christmas and New Year’s Eve as well as other interesting pieces on design, modern architecture, and real estate.

In conclusion, I wish you a merry Christmas whether conventional or not: spend it with people you love, and a very happy and sound new year 2009.
