
I was very surprised when several times lately in the metro I've seen an old lady or man carrying a basket in their hand. I always guessed in my mind what kind of a treasure they can be carrying. I was eyeing the basket and got surprised that each time the basket contained something else. Most often it was mushrooms that one could smell all over the train car, another time they had apples for a change, or pears and plums. And about a week ago I was invited by a girlfriend of mine to a coffee and apple strudel. I never tasted anything as good! And of course she immediately had to surrender the recipe to me.
Since then I keep asking myself how do the Czechs do it that they can make such good use of products from their country's soil? So far I have not found an answer, but I have a feeling that it is related to a certain national enthusiasm in doing something, doing the home do it yourself projects and just discovering. And now, during the autumn season, this is visible more than ever. Simply said people you are just able to enjoy all seasons of the year no matter what the weather is.
This ingenuity and work hard attitude is surely being manifested in architecture and construction. In the last issue we have already written about the transformations of Prague, and these would never take place if not for these or similar qualities. This is why I hope that in this issue you will look at the most interesting projects that are being created in this wonderful country.
