Dear readers,
It is a great pleasure to me to be the first one to welcome you to 2010. I hope you have enjoyed a peaceful and content Christmas that has given you not only those few kilos overweight, but enough strength for the year. I still recall the celebrations of the new millennium and the year 2000, when all sorts of disasters, a collapse of the computer network, and a destruction of humanity were envisaged. None of that happened, fortunately. Not that I had wished for any of it to happen, but magical numbers have always had a special effect on people. So I sort of waited for something to happen anyway. And all of a sudden, it’s ten years later, and I say to myself that nothing has really changed. The world is just as it always was. Yet, more catastrophic prognoses are going to spring up with the new magical year, 2010. And I hope for them to fail again, and ten years from now, we will all think how nice a decade it was.
However, the advent of a new year brings not only various forecasts, but also desires and wishes each of us has as to what should change in ourselves or around us. You know what I’m talking about. Of course I’m not going to share my private resolution with you, but perhaps I may disclose one that ESTATE editors’ office has. Knock on the wood, I dare say our magazine has gained a firm hold on the Czech market, which is why we all have to improve, improve and improve continually. We have therefore prepared several new series, and will try to bring you ever better and more interesting information, news and trends in real estate, modern living and lifestyles throughout the year. And I hope that ESTATE is going to be a pleasant companion to you with which you will enjoy your leisure time. Thank you for your favour so far, and have a good start on the new year!
